Disc Filters for Mining and Metallurgical Processing

Compositech manufactures our own rotary vacuum disc filters and also provides inspection, maintenance and replacement parts for disc filters from other OEM's. Our disc filters are used extensively in mining and metallurgical applications requiring large filtration areas and the need to filter fast settling solids which do not require cake washing. Filter cake thickness varies based on the process and the specific gravity of the material. Compositech's disc filter is able to adapt to changes in the feed rate and the solids concentration of the slurry, and provides good performance and high production rates.

We have many customers who use our replacement sectors which are designed specifically to withstand mining and metallurgical processing. Compositech regularly fabricates sectors of stainless steel but, for our mining customers, we make sectors with a stainless steel frame and a body of engineered plastics or entirely of engineered plastics. We  are able to manufacture sectors and sector covers, gaskets, clamps, and radial rods for every brand of disc filter.

In addition to the sectors and sector parts we manufacture, our service group provides complete sector recover services.  For some customers we provide in-plant sector recover services for large scale recovering as part of a preventive maintenance schedule. Other customers, who have spare sectors in their stock to rotate into the disc filter, generally contact us to arrange shipping of used sectors for recovering at our facility. We strip, sandblast, pressure wash, inspect, repair, recover and return sectors machine-ready!

We stock a wide selection of sectors and sector parts for all disc filter brands. In addition to our supply of sectors, Compositech provides disc filter replacement parts including centershafts, drives, wear plates, eel slip plates, valves and seals for all models of disc filters.

We manufacture Compositech replacement parts for Beloit Jones™, Celleco™, Dorr-Oliver®, Eimco®, IMPCO™, Komline-Sanderson® and most other brands of disc filtration equipment. Our replacement parts meet or exceed the quality and material of OEM components.

Compositech is not an authorized replacement parts supplier or service supplier for GL&V®, Celleco™, Beloit Jones™, IMPCO™, Dorr-Oliver®, Komline-Sanderson®, or Eimco® brands of process equipment or parts therefore. Nor is Compositech in any way associated with GL&V USA Inc. or its affiliated entities or with FLSmidth A/S or its affiliated entities. All Compositech replacement parts are manufactured by and warranted by Compositech and not by the original equipment manufacturer.

Compositech Condisk Filter

The Condisk Series of Filters represents a new line of equipment for Compositech aimed specifically at mineral concentrates such as copper, iron ore, bauxite, lead, molybdenum, and vanadium. This new generation of disc filters is designed for higher rotational speeds and a more efficient filtration cycle. The Condisk 4Mx8 is a 4 meter diameter unit with 8 discs. It features a submerged rotating agitator to maintain slurry consistency, a rubber lined vat, and a shaft mounted drive. Our Condisk filter is designed with a Compositech Composite Centershaft which we are also able to offer as a replacement part for disc filters made by other manufacturers.
Compositech Composite Centershaft

Compositech's Composite Centershaft is a specialized component designed to provide a solution for customers who use disc filters for processing slurries with a corrosive pH level as low as 0.3. Disc filters have been used for the process industry for years and are generally supplied with either a cast iron centershaft or a carbon steel centershaft with elastomer lined tubes. When operating with extreme pH levels, the cast iron or steel components corrode away in less than a year making the centershaft an annual maintenance item. Our solution to this problem is the Compositech Composite Centershaft. Our centershaft is made of engineered plastics, pultruded fiberglass reinforced resin, and elastomers that all withstand extremely corrosive environments. We use Titanium and Hastalloy for the required metal pins and fasteners. Our Composite Centershaft is degined to withstand the exposure to low pH material while providing the mechanical integrity to allow continuous operation of the disc filter. This product has a lifespan 8 times that of a standard cast iron centershaft in a corrosive environment and its production costs are less than twice the cost of the original cast iron component. Our customers who have replaced their disc centershaft with the Compositech Composite Centershaft  report long term successful use of this component.
