Horizontal Belt Filters are used in chemical and industrial process applications where washing of the cake is crucial. They are widely used in the production of phosphoric acid, gypsum, catalyst, titanium dioxide, flue gas desulfurization, phosphate rock benefication, pharmaceuticals, pigments, and various minerals.
The horizontal belt filter is used as an extractor of moisture from a slurry. Cake washing is provided by multistage single run or counter current flood washing. The horizontal belt filter is capable of washing soluble components from the filter cake and reducing residual moisture to very low levels in the dry zone. The continual filtration process includes constant filter cloth washing to provide a clean cloth belt for every filter cycle. With this type of system, the entire process can be observed from feed to discharge. Horizontal belt filters require no tank so the inventory of the slurry is reduced to what is actually being filtered.
Compositech produces a line of horizontal belt filters designed specifically for chemical filtration. These filters feature tubular frames for ease of cleaning and special chemical resistant materials are used in filter construction and for coatings. We use non-lubricated FDA approved polymer bearings, fully enclosed troughing supports, full coverage drip pans with flanged drains, and fully encapsulated drainage belts. Our horizontal belt filters are available in widths up to 4 meters wide. Our largest horizontal belt filter is a modular system that can be sized and resized according to customer needs. Each module is 2.5 meters long and increases the filtration area by 10 square meters.
The deep troughing lips on our fine chemical filters are designed to fully contain any spillage through the deckles and return of the spilled solids to the discharge end of the filter. Compositech's horizontal belt filters are also easily maintained. The non-drive side of the frame is designed for easy removal of the drainage belt, pulleys and support decks without complete disassembly of the filter. The filters can be totally enclosed for control of fumes and sprays, fitted with several cake washing options, designed to incorporate wash down systems, and fully coated with corrosion resistant materials.
Compositech has been providing specifically designed horizontal belt filter stations in a myriad of configurations since 1991. In addition to our Compositech horizontal belt filter, we stock replacement parts for other filter brands including gaskets, seals, drainage belts, bearings, bearing housings, wear strips, slide strips, and edge trackers.
We manufacture Compositech replacement parts for Andritz, Beloit Jones™, Celleco™, Dorr-Oliver®, Eimco®, IMPCO™, Komline-Sanderson® and most other brands of horizontal belt filters. Our replacement parts meet or exceed the quality and material of OEM components.
Compositech is not an authorized replacement parts supplier or service supplier for GL&V®, Celleco™, Beloit Jones™, IMPCO™, Dorr-Oliver®, Komline-Sanderson®, or Eimco® brands of process equipment or parts therefore.
