Vertical Pressure Filters for Food Processing
Vertical pressure filters, also called tower filter presses, are the best filtration option when the moisture content of the discharged cake is critical. This filter offers the ability to mechanically squeeze the filter cake to high pressures resulting in much lower residual moisture contents. Vertical pressure filters are frequently used in the washing and dewatering of native and modified starches such as:
Corn (maize)
Potato
Rice
Tapioca
Wheat
Use of vertical pressure filters in food processing plants provides for energy savings, a reduction in wash water requirements, and an increase in plant capacities. There is very little loss of solids in filtrate, and much less filtrate because much less wash water is consumed. The resulting low moisture cake leads to significant increases in dryer capacity.
Compositech focuses on designing improved products to optimize vertical pressure filter performance for the food processing industries. Compositech has designed an interlocking polypropylene fiberglass grid panel which has been successfully used by our customers for improved filter performance. Compositech grid panels are specifically designed to provide better drainage and offer a larger cross section for less belt drag. Additional vertical pressure filter parts we manufacture include plate gaskets, plate blocks, cloth scrapers, and roller scrapers.
Compositech manufactures replacement parts for filters made by Bethlehem, Hoesch (Pannevis), Larox and most other brands of vertical pressure filtration equipment. Our replacement parts meet or exceed the quality and material of OEM components.
Compositech is not an authorized replacement parts supplier or service supplier for Larox or Hoesch(Pannevis) brands of process equipment; nor is it in any way associated with Outotec Inc. or its affiliated entities. All Compositech improved design replacement parts are manufactured by and warranted by Compositech.
